2. The first Super Over of IPL 2020
It did not take long in the 13th edition of the tournament to witness the first of five Super Overs. All the Super Over drama happened in the second league match between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab where Kagiso Rabada defended one run in three balls.
3. Tevatia hit five sixes in one over
This was the match played in Sharjah between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab. Rajasthan Royals were chasing a massive total of 224. Tevatia came out to bat when Rajasthan had already crossed the 100-run mark in the ninth over. Tevatia turned things around by hitting five huge sixes off Sheldon Cottrell and helped Rajasthan push toward the target.
4. Superman Pooran
The early matches saw mixed fielding standards. However, Nicholas Pooran of Kings XI Punjab made a special effort. Sanju Samson hit a delivery from spinner Ravichandran Ashwin that looked destined to clear the ropes. But flying Pooran took the catch, saving what was surely a six and throwing it back inside the boundary.
5. Ishan Kishan’s 99
This match was between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai Indians needed 80 runs in the last four overs with Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard at the crease. What followed was a fine display of power-hitting as Mumbai nearly chased the target but eventually lost in the Super Over.
6. Two Super Overs
This match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab became a replay of the 2019 World Cup final with two Super Overs in the same game. Surprisingly, it was once again pacer Trent Boult who could not see his team over the line.
7. The Universe Boss
Chris Gayle announced his presence with a half-century batting at number 3. He led Kings XI Punjab to an eight-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
8. Number 7 in demand
The moment it became clear that Chennai Super Kings would not make a comeback to the playoffs, the tournament's final player MS Dhoni became highly sought after. His jersey was in high demand. The Pandya brothers and Jos Buttler were among those happy to get one and pose with it.
9. 'Definitely not'
When commentator Danny Morrison asked Dhoni if that was his last group match for Chennai Super Kings, the cool captain replied, "Definitely not."
10. Mumbai Indians retained the crown
Mumbai Indians successfully defended their title, beating Delhi Capitals by five wickets in a brilliant final.

1. Brendon McCullum’s 158 off 73 balls
If anyone doubted the longevity of the IPL tournament, Brendon McCullum's unbeaten 158 in the very first match showcased the tournament's potential. In that innings, the New Zealander struck 15 sixes as part of his personal score, a record individual total that remained among the highest for years.
2. Dhoni's 51 off just 20 balls
This innings was a classic MS Dhoni cameo. He came out to bat when Chennai Super Kings were struggling and the scoreboard looked bleak. Dhoni helped his side post a competitive 187 in 20 overs by scoring 51 off 20 balls. Ultimately, his team won the match.
3. Ganguly's celebration
This is one of the magical moments in IPL history where Sourav Ganguly bowled with his first ball in the tournament and clean-bowled Kevin Pietersen. Truly a timeless moment.
4. AB de Villiers' 47 off 17 balls
This match was played between RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) and the Deccan Chargers. Batting for RCB, AB de Villiers scored 47 off 17 balls and helped his team post a total of 181.
5. Rajasthan chased 214
This was the IPL's first edition where Rajasthan Royals chased 214 and beat the Deccan Chargers with one ball to spare.
6. Dwayne Smith's 14 runs off 3 balls
Despite being jet-lagged, he managed to score 14 runs off three balls and helped his team Mumbai Indians cross the line against Chennai Super Kings.
7. Mishra's hat-trick of hat-tricks
Amit Mishra became the only person in IPL history to record a hat-trick of hat-tricks. He achieved this feat in 2013 when his side Sunrisers Hyderabad won a low-scoring thriller against Pune Warriors.
